My grandmother introduced this dish to my mother and my mother brought the authentic taste to my taste buds. I am here today sharing the same with you too as I can never eat this enough.. To me this taste is 30 year old and I call it as my inherited meal 😋 Mild sweet and spicy flavour is what it tastes like and perfect for any day.

Ingredients
For the main dish
250 grams Flat beans cut into small pieces
1 big potato cut in small pieces
2 tbsp groundnut oil (use any other vegetable oil of your choice)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
5-6 curry leaves
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp gram dal (Gram lentils)
1 big onion largely chopped
salt to taste
Finely chopped coriander for garnish
For curry masala
2 tbsp fresh coconut
2 tbsp homemade sambar powder
1 green chilli
1 small piece jaggery
Lemon size tamarind piece
Recipe
👩🍳Pressure cook the flat beans and potato in just enough water with the help of separators (Cooking in separator reduces water wastage)
In parallel make the curry masala
--In a mixer add coconut, sambar powder, green chilli,, jaggery, salt and tamarind
--Add just enough water to make a nice creamy paste from it
👩🍳Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds
👩🍳Once they begin to splutter, add gram lentils
👩🍳Once the gram lentils turn brown, add chopped onions and curry leaves
👩🍳Wait till the onions turn brown and add turmeric powder
👩🍳Add salt and the cut vegetables
👩🍳Mix well and add the curry masala we prepared earlier
👩🍳Let it boil open for 2 minutes and remove the pan from heat
👩🍳Garnish with coriander and serve hot with a bowl of hot rice
