Simple food can never go out of fashion. This side dish is having the goodness of beans and the flavour of lemon and spices.. Green beans are a good source of vitamins and minerals including folate which is very good especially for women.

How to eat it?
Ingredients (serves 2)
250 gm washed and cut beans (inch length)
1 red onion peeled and chopped in small pieces
1 chopped green chilli
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp black gram lentil (urad dal)
1tsp split chickpeas (chana dal)
2 tbsp groundnut oil (use any other vegetable oil of your choice)
salt to taste
1/2 lemon juice
Recipe
👩🍳Boil the chopped beans in just half a cup of water with some salt until cooked or pressure cook for one whistle. (I generally cook in a pressure cooker with separators so that I can cook rice and boil vegetables at the same time)
👩🍳Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds
👩🍳Add Urad dal and chana dal
👩🍳Stir until they turn brown and nice
👩🍳Now add the onions and stir occasionally
👩🍳Once they begin to turn brown add the chilli
👩🍳Add salt and the boiled beans
👩🍳Cook open for 5 minutes
👩🍳 Add fresh lemon juice and grated coconut for garnish (optional but this tastes amazing)
Total
10-15 min
